Overview:
Lucky Brand Jeans, established in 1990, has become one of America's favorite denim brands with a sense of humor evident in its trademark "Lucky You" fly. Lucky Brand products are sold through its own 170+ retail stores nationwide and on its website (www.luckybrandjeans.com). We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Merchandiser/Buyer - Knits.
The ideal candidate will have strong product knowledge, flourish in a fast paced, innovative culture founded on creative thinking and a collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities:
*Create assortments targeted to customer, protects key categories, and balances price points
*Develop and implement product strategies that tie to financial plans in parnership with planning
*Formulate and profitably executes the selection and promotion of merchandise
*Develop retail specific line plan and submits needs to design
*Provide retail specific feedback at milestone meetings -- thumbnail, proto, final line edit
*Develop strategies to react to business in season -- I.e. piece goods, blank ownership;
works with design to inject chase styles
*Partner with planning to continually manage the business through in-season analysis
and tactical adjustments = OTB
*Assort buys by cluster to maximize sales and maintain brand integrity
*Sales recapping and reporting to business partners and upper management -- weekly and hindsighting
*Provide visuals, training, and marketing an overview of the retail assortment
*Work with visuals to ensure clear communication of big product messages within store environment and that supports the overall brand direction
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Merchandising or related field preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• 3+ years Buyer/ Merchandising experience
• Possess excellent analytical and strategic skills
• Strong negotiating and managerial skills
• Proficiency in PC operation, MS office and Excel
• Product oriented individual with denim/ contemporary market experience
• Ability to multitask
• Must be a team leader with strong communication and presentation skills
