Job Description Overview:
Founded in 1994 by Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor, as a premium designer, marketer and wholesaler of sexy, sophisticated basics for women, Juicy Couture is recognized around the world as a leading contemporary brand of casual lifestyle clothing. The flattering, slender fit of the products, the exclusive distribution and the loyal celebrity following have all played an important role in shaping the brand. In 2003 Juicy was acquired by Liz Claiborne Inc., creating a unique and exciting partnership. Later that year Juicy launched men’s and children’s apparel and in 2004 Juicy Couture Accessories and Juicy Beach Swimwear. In 2005 Juicy Footwear, Juicy Eyewear and Juicy Timepieces were added to the assortment along with the exciting launch of Couture Couture, Juicy’s foray into a designer collection for Women. In 2006 the lifestyle brand was grown with the addition of the Juicy Couture Fragrance and Juicy Baby. Currently Juicy operates retail stores domestically, including flagship locations in Beverly Hills, San Francisco and New York, in conjunction with international partners throughout Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Assist Import and Domestic fabric department with comprehensive tracking of all fabrics through development to ensure quality and style requirements are met prior to adoption in the line.
Responsibilities:
•Generate comprehensive tracking system that ensures Design and Pre-Production are maximizing lead times.
•Gather relevant information while considering a broad range of issues and factors; Obtain test reports from suppliers; Evaluate and maintain test results; Confirm care instructions.
•Utilize technical expertise to interpret and translate design’s comments/intent clearly to vendors.
•Assist with tracking all Import and Domestic components.
•Maintain Import and Domestic fabric files.
•Manage sending and receiving of all R & D packages, e.g. artwork, fabric submits and lab dips.
•Maintain fabric archive/resource library of development/production fabric to support seasonal inspiration.
•Work closely and partner effectively with Design, Product Development, CAD Design and all other cross-functional partners.
•Track fabric test results.
•Assist with maintaining fabric charts.
•Prepare fabric files for review with Design.
•Prepare invoices for sign-off.
•Request spec sheets.
•Work closely with dye houses on fabric dye/wash tests.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
•Basic knowledge of textiles/ fabric preferred.
•Strong organizational/ follow-up skills.
•Working knowledge and understanding of Production.
•Computer literacy with proficiency in Excel.
•Understanding of product integrity requirements, product cycle timeline and garment construction.
•Ability to multi-task.
•Strong ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
