Aloha~ Tommy Bahama the purveyor of island lifestyles has evolved their successful men's and women's upscale casual sportswear, golfwear, accessory and home furnishings collections into a well respected restaurant and retail operation that serves up island-inspired fare and lots of tropical fun. Tommy Bahama is looking for a qualified Cafe General Manager to join our restaurant division. MISSION To promote and energize Tommy Bahama guest experience. To manage the strategic and daily issues that occur within a Tommy Bahama Compound. To maintain “Tommy Bahama” lifestyle, culture, and atmosphere. KEY RESULT AREAS Guest Service: Living the Tommy Bahama philosophy, and ensuring guest satisfaction. Team Development: Guiding, training, scheduling, and developing the team to maximize sales and guest experience. Company Relations: Working with other parts of the Tommy Bahama company to ensure maximum company results are achieved. Finance and Operations: Focusing on sales and profit as results of efficient and effective guest service. Community Relations: Partnering with the community associations and representing Tommy Bahama well in the community. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS This position may perform a variety of tasks based on the experience level of each incumbent. Guest Service- • Educates guests on “Tommy Bahama” lifestyle, culture, and atmosphere. • Generates hospitality and flexibility with the guest. • Ability to enhance any guest experience through any possible situation Team Development- • Develops “Tommy Team” through hiring and training for the continue growth of Restaurant Managers, and other team members. • Performs as a “team player” demonstrating leadership and coaching skills. • Generates hospitality and flexibility with the team and in their management style. • Continues education of self and team members with regards to lifestyle, product knowledge, procedures, and policies. • Responsible for performance evaluations of restaurant managers and partners with retail regionals to provide input into the performance evaluations for the store manager of the retail store. Company Relations- • Has “Global Thinking” in mind with regards to teams, community, and lifestyle. • Analyzes restaurant level reports and forwards or discusses information with Vision Keepers or New York Finance • Actively partners with the Store Manager for retail to market and develop the image of the Compound. Finance and Operations- • Hires and manages a staff, and oversees all restaurant operations to achieve all sales, service, organization, guest satisfaction, and profitability goals for the restaurant in compliance with company procedures. • Develops and Show decision-making skills that reflect “Tommy Bahama” lifestyle while maintaining a business balance. • Actively reviews food and operational costs to create a profitable environment. • Awareness to details in overseeing daily operations to include cash management, paperwork, and loss prevention. • Strives for achievement of sales goals for the benefit of team and business. • Ensures that the physical environment is pleasing and inviting to guests, and responds to all facilities issues or problems. • Keeps the “Tommy Bahama” compound a clean and safe environment. Community Relations- • Qualifies possible events where Tommy Bahama may want to be present, and orchestrates TB staff involvement. EXPERIENCE, TALENT AND EDUCATION 5+ years Minimum Hospitality experience 3+ years Minimum Management Team Supervision Restaurant experience needed Open to travel Tommy Bahama is full of smart, creative islanders.
