Job Description Financial Analyst I
Department: Finance/Accounting

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Financial Analyst is responsible for the data gathering, compilation and modeling of management reporting and analysis for the Case Logic Group. This would include development and maintenance of the information systems used in this reporting and analysis. This position supports the Director of Finance, Planning, & Analysis in completion of month–end reports, operating budgets, and forecasts. In addition, this position supports special projects such as acquisition and special operations reviews as examples.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Financial Database Development and Maintenance: Design, maintenance and upkeep of global financial database while implementing and maintaining new financial tools as required. Streamline, integrate, improve workflow efficiency and data accuracy.
• Management Reporting: Analysis of monthly financial statements, comparing actual results to budget, prior year, and forecast. Provide feedback and recommendations on significant variances. Prepare, analyze, distribute management reports, profitability reports, sales reports, scorecard and pricing models and alert management of unusual variances and trends.
• Budget and Forecast: Manage completion of annual budget for the group. Setting timetables and requirements of personnel. Leads sales and margin forecasts for key customers, P&L and SG&A. Setting budget targets and final budgets number in conjunction with VP, Sales, Marketing & Design. Prepare forecasts with information to support commentary on significant variances to budget, prior year, and prior forecast. Develop models and tools to enhance forecast and budget efficiency & accuracy.
• Special Projects: Would include financial research in regards to specific business needs by management and banking partners. Assist with analysis of prospective acquisition targets.
QUALIFICATIONS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• BA Degree in Accounting/Finance or IT and / or equivalent training / experience preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years` experience as a financial analyst, consumer products industry preferred.
• Expert MS Excel and database (Access) skills.
• Demonstrated ability to create/edit/modify Visual Basic Macros in MS Office.
• Basic SQL/MS query knowledge.
• Demonstrated ability to create meaningful business models and analytical tools.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly Organized and analytical
