Designer
DailyCandy, the leading style and trends e-mail publication company, is seeking a designer in New York City. The designer will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the look and feel and usability of our e-mail and web site products and services and will work closely with a cross-functional group to define and create satisfying user experiences and engaging designs consistent with our brand. Projects include e-mail templates, web pages, landing pages and other site elements, advertising banners, promotional materials, sales materials, marketing materials and other design projects.
Job Description/Responsibilities:
BA degree in graphic design with 5+ years experience in Web/Interactive design and print design with premium branded site/company.
Requires hands-on skills including creating HTML and Flash based sites, online newsletters/HTML e-mails, marketing materials, banner ads, promotions and printed sales materials. This includes a thorough understanding and ability to apply design concepts (layout, typography, color, usability etc) for web as well as print.
Strong design skills and a wide degree of creativity and experience.
Ability to manage and prioritize projects.
Strong usability experience as well as understanding of user testing and feedback.
Ability to take a project from inception to completion.
Ability to maintain technical specifications and usability guidelines for various projects.
Ability to work cross-functionally with the editorial, marketing, sales and technical departments to ensure products are being designed to spec.
Must be familiar with the concepts, practices, and procedures required to develop online content. Proficiency in Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator and Dreamweaver, HTML and CSS.
